Our mission is to showcase films that deal with body image, size acceptance, or present fat people in a positive or non-stereotypical manner and to raise money for the Fat Friendly Film Fund, a grant for filmmakers who share our vision.

Tampa Bay's 2005 Fat Female Film Fest will present:

A 25 minute student film documentary entitled "Big Girls! Big Beautiful Women in the Adult Entertainment Industry." Filmmaker Sara McCool is slated to present her film and lead a discussion group after the viewing. For more information, visit her site or email her.
A 30 minute documentary entitled "Buoyant." Filmmaker and Hartford cinema professor, Julie Wyman is slated to present her film. The film interweaves three stories: the Padded Lillies, a troupe of fat, synchronized swimmers; Archimedes' study of floating bodies; and the "Drystroke Swimulator," which allows a person to swim out of water.
